Kola Duo
Beta open on iPhone. Android next.

Budgeting together, as a game.

Kola Duo is an expense tracker for couples and households. You both log your day, a shared streak grows, and nobody gets ranked.

Kola Duo home screen: Kola in a sunny field, a 12-day shared streak, and a chest ready to open.

How it works

Money is hard to talk about. A game is not.

Most budgeting apps show who spent what and leave the two of you to deal with it. Kola Duo only counts what you do together.

Trophies screen: the first one is earned when both of you log 7 days in a row.
One

One streak, shared.

A day counts when each of you has logged an expense, or tapped “nothing spent today”. One person cannot carry the streak alone, and a streak saver covers the day life gets in the way.

Two

Meet Kola.

Kola is your household’s creature. It starts as a seed and grows with the XP you earn by logging together. Levels, the daily chest and seasons bring items to place in its world.

  1. Seed Where every household starts.
  2. Sprout At 250 XP, Kola gets its feet.
  3. Sapling At 1,500 XP, arms and four leaves.

Quests and bosses screen: a savings boss named Summer trip, $3,100 saved of $5,000, and three weekly quests.
Three

Savings goals become bosses.

Name what you are saving for, and it becomes a boss with a health bar. Every deposit, from either of you, takes some of it down. Three duo quests a week keep the habit going.

Summer trip: 62% defeated

The rules of the game

Three rules I will not break.

  1. No ranking between you.

No leaderboard, no comparison, no “who spent too much”. You win together or not at all.

  2. Consistency, never amounts.

Rewards follow the habit of logging. What one person spent or saved earns nothing extra.

  3. Paying speeds nothing up.

No pay-to-win. The two-person game is free, and Premium only adds cosmetics and capacity.

Built for real households

Cash counts too. So does mobile money.

No bank link

Entries are manual, because a lot of real spending never touches a card. It takes a few seconds, and it is the habit the whole game rests on.

Private when it needs to be

Mark an expense as private and your partner does not see it. Household totals stay right, and a surprise gift stays a surprise.

Quiet notifications

Reminders never show amounts or what you bought. Nothing about your money appears on a lock screen.

Good questions

Before you sign up.

Do we have to type in every expense?

Yes, by hand, and it takes a few seconds. That is on purpose: cash and mobile money count, and the daily habit is the game. A day with no spending counts too, with one tap.

Will my partner see everything I spend?

Only what you leave shared. An expense marked private stays hidden from your partner, while the household totals remain correct.

Is it free?

The game for two is free: the streak, Kola, quests, bosses and seasons. Premium is planned for cosmetics and extra capacity. It will never make the game go faster.

Is it only for couples?

It is built for two people first: partners, roommates, siblings. Larger households are on the roadmap.

Can I start on my own?

Yes. Create your household and log your spending right away: your history, your categories and where your month goes are all there from day one. The shared streak and Kola’s growth start the day the person you invite joins your household.
